Whitley Penn’s Litigation Services Partner, Aaron Ballard, has been named to Fort Worth Inc.’s 40 Under 40 list.

Ballard has spent his entire 16-year career within the Forensic & Litigation Services department at Whitley Penn. He serves as a financial expert in various types of litigation matters, with an emphasis on serving as a testifying expert in complex, high net worth divorce cases throughout the state of Texas. In his role as a financial expert, Ballard performs valuations of closely held businesses, forensic accounting, asset tracing, damages and lost profits calculations, and other litigation support services in connection with marital dissolutions, commercial litigation, probate litigation, partner/shareholder disputes, and other types of litigation. He assists with settlement negotiations and mediation and has testified over forty times in depositions, hearings, and trials in state and federal court.
Ballard is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas and holds the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential issued by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). His industry experience includes professional practices, real estate, oil and gas, family limited partnerships, technology, private equity, manufacturing, construction, retail, restaurants, and health care, among others.
Ballard is a frequent speaker and author at continuing legal education courses sponsored by the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, and local bar associations. He is the recipient of previous awards including the 2023 Joseph W. McKnight Award for Best Family Law CLE Article, the 2022 AICPA Forensic and Valuation Services (FVS) Standing Ovation Award, and the 2019 “40 Under Forty” List of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA).
Ballard obtained his undergraduate degree in finance and accounting in 2008 as well as his master’s degree in accounting in 2009 from Abilene Christian University.
