Whitley Penn Partner and Chief Growth Officer, Felix J. Lozano, III CPA, CFE, has joined the UT Southwestern Medical Center’s President’s Advisory Board.
The role of the advisory board is to provide Dr. Podolsky and other members of the administration with guidance on the opportunities and challenges UT Southwestern faces as an academic medical center in all three areas of its mission—clinical care, education, and research—and provide the philanthropic support necessary for the institution to thrive.
UT Southwestern launched the President’s Advisory Board in 2017 to align with its institutional mission and ambitious agenda, with the goal to engage community leaders willing to invest their valuable time, expertise, and philanthropic support as partners in institutional advancement.
“I am honored and excited to serve on the UT Southwestern President’s Advisory Board,” stated Lozano. “I have great interest and affection for the organization and its mission to promote a healthier society and I look forward to collaborating with fellow leaders to help advance this institution to its full potential.”
Lozano has more than 32 years of public accounting experience auditing public and private companies and employee benefit plans and family office & owned businesses. His specific audit experience focuses on forensic accounting, fraud auditing, and special services related to internal control assessments. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, Lozano is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Lozano is a member of the Dallas Assembly and a member of the Dallas Regional Chamber Board of Directors, served on the Park City Club Board of Governors, is on the Board of Advisors for the State Fair of Texas and is Chairman of their Investment Committee. He is a former Advisor and Chairman for the Nexia International Audit Committee and Chair of Nexia’s International Digital Committee. In addition, Lozano is a member of Association for Accounting Marketing Major Growth Firms Group and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, for the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas where he also Chaired the 2018 & 2019 Annual Campaign. He is a member of the Class of 2007 for Leadership Dallas and the Class of 1994 for Leadership Fort Worth.
Lozano is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA), Dallas Chapter of the TXCPA, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Lozano received a BBA in Accounting from Texas Christian University and is an alumnus of Ernst & Young.
