Gaurav Batra Joins Whitley Penn

Whitley Penn welcomes Gaurav “Garry” Batra as Managing Director in the firm’s Audit, Professional Standards Group (PSG).
Batra has more than 16 years of public accounting experience focusing on public and private clients with deep competencies in technical accounting, financial reporting, statutory audit, internal controls, finance transformations and transactions. He has prior experience working with clients in various industries including energy, real estate, and financial services. He has extensive knowledge in many technical topics including ASC 842, ASC 606, ASC 718, and ASC 805. Batra serves as a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) technical resource, monitors the firm’s assurance methodology, and helps oversee both regulatory and internal inspections.
Batra has a Bachelor of Commerce from Delhi University and is Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Texas as well as a licensed Chartered Accountant (CA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
