Whitley Penn Announces New Service Offering, Data Products & Strategy

Whitley Penn expands upon its Consulting Service Line to bring Data Products & Strategy to clients led by Senior Manager, Jake Baine.
This new service will focus on transforming Whitley Penn’s clients’ current data and analytics into data products. Each dashboard, report, or insight will have an intended use case and ROI attached to it to ensure the firm is providing real value to its clients.
“With the addition of Data Products & Strategy, our Energy Industry clients will now be able to begin to treat data as an asset and through a product methodology our clients can measure value and ROI for the decisions derived from their data products,” stated Baine. “We look forward to providing this elevated service to clients and helping enable businesses to glean new insights, diversify existing products, and develop new revenue streams.”
Similar to how crude oil is a base product for many companies and can be used to manufacture other products such as gasoline for cars and consumers, Whitley Penn sees underlying datasets of its clients as building blocks for data products that become business transformation assets.
Baine has eight years of experience working alongside clients to transform their digital strategy and data analytics processes at two of four of The Big 4 accounting firms. He is an innovative IT consultant with a background in data analytics, data visualization, and data monetization. His experience includes but is not limited to, leading a Fortune 20 finance organization’s data and analytics transformation, designing a post-deal M&A data governance and management service offering model, and developing CFO dashboard POCs to replace existing manual excel reporting consolidations.
Baine has a certification from the Databricks academy in Generative AI and Lakehouse and Certified Information Systems Auditor Certification as well as a SAFe 4 Agilist Certification and a Collibra Data Steward Certification.
Baine earned his BBA in Management Information Systems with a concentration in Finance and his MS in Data Science from the Texas Tech University.
