Dallas, TX (October 21, 2021) – Whitley Penn Director of Audit and Partner in Charge of the Dallas Office, Felix J. Lozano, III received the YMCA Inaugural Catalyst Initiative Award for his volunteer services.
This award is presented to a volunteer at the Dallas YMCA who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to a program or has helped further the goals of the YMCA in his or her community. The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas held a Celebration Luncheon on Thursday, October 14th honoring its volunteers.
“It is an honor to receive the inaugural Catalyst Initiative Award. Serving at the YMCA has made me a better person because it’s given me the opportunity to get out of the boardroom and get into the community. You can see the difference we make with a lot of the lives that we don’t interact with on a daily basis. Every Saturday morning for the last nine to ten months, I’ve spent about four hours helping with food distribution at the Park South YMCA. That immediate gratification can really be obvious in how the community reacts to the volunteers. You can actually see the difference you’re making right there on the spot and that will make your heart grateful,” stated Lozano.
Larry Autrey, Managing Partner for Whitley Penn added, “Felix has been and will continue to be a great leader within Whitley Penn, the YMCA community and beyond. We are proud of his many accomplishments and respect his drive and dedication towards the success of Whitley Penn and his volunteer work with the YMCA.”
Lozano is a dynamic leader in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors and Board of Advisors for the Dallas Regional Chamber, is a member of the Dallas Assembly, serves on the Park City Club Board of Governors, Board of Advisors for the State Fair of Texas, and a current Board Member and current Chair Elect for the Young Men’s Christian Association of Metropolitan Dallas.
Lozano has more than 31 years of public accounting experience auditing public and private companies and employee benefit plans and family office & owned businesses. His specific audit experience focuses on forensic accounting, fraud auditing, and special services related to internal control assessments. In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, he is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Lozano received a BBA in Accounting from Texas Christian University and is an alumnus of Ernst & Young.
