Kate Devey Takes Office as 2021-2022 President of the Texas Society of CPAs Permian Basin Chapter
Midland, TX (June 1, 2021) – Whitley Penn Tax Senior Manager Kate Devey, begins her term as the 2021-2022 Texas Society of CPAs Permian Basin (TXCPA Permian Basin) Chapter President June 1.
“I feel honored to serve as Chapter President, and I look forward to working alongside my fellow board volunteers and the chapter members. We are excited to offer a full-slate of in-person CPE, Chapter events, networking opportunities with professionals and accounting students, and a wide-variety of ways for CPAs to get involved in the community. As we return to normal, our focus will be on coming together and advocating for the profession,” stated Devey.
Devey assumes this role immediately following Whitley Penn Audit Principal J.D. Faircloth who has served as Chapter President for the 2020-2021 term.
TXCPA Permian Basin held its first organizational meeting in May of 1949. The Chapter now serves more than 500 members through 21 counties throughout West Texas.
With various committees and events, there are plenty of volunteer activities and opportunities for service and networking. The Chapter is focused on empowering members in the Permian Basin to lead and succeed.
Devey has more than 10 years of tax and client services experience advising clients on tax planning, regulatory compliance, accounting and related individual and small business matters. She primarily serves clients in the oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, professional services, and real estate industries. Her clients include partnerships, limited liability companies, small business corporations, C-Corporations, and high net-worth individuals.
Devey has been awarded TXCPA Rising Star, TXCPA Permian Basin Outstanding Director, and The University of Texas of the Permian Basin Outstanding Graduate in MPA.
Devey earned her B.B.A. and M.P.A from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
