James spent a significant portion of his career with a Big Four firm as well as a large international mid-tier firm, where he advised multinational and domestic corporate entities on tax planning, structuring, and compliance.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma and has built his career serving sophisticated organizations across multiple industries. James spent a significant portion of his career with a Big Four firm as well as a large international mid-tier firm, where he advised multinational and domestic corporate entities on tax planning, structuring, and compliance.
His practice focuses on corporate taxation, with particular experience in multinational structuring, cross-border planning, and ASC 740 income tax accounting. In addition to his client responsibilities, James served as an internal advisor on audit and income tax provision quality matters and acted as a second-level reviewer on complex transactions and technical issues, providing oversight and guidance on challenging engagements.
He works with a wide range of businesses, from start-up and pre-revenue companies to Fortune 500 enterprises, providing strategic guidance tailored to each stage of growth and organizational complexity. He has supported large public and private companies through financial statement restatements and other significant reporting matters, providing technical leadership and practical solutions within compressed reporting timelines.
James also has extensive experience in tax department design and operational efficiency, helping organizations build scalable processes, strengthen internal controls, and align the tax function with broader business strategy. He works extensively with technology, manufacturing, and retail companies, helping them navigate complex tax regulations while aligning tax strategies with overall business objectives.
With more than three decades in the profession, James is valued for his steady judgment, technical depth, and ability to bring clarity to complex issues. He has also served on several nonprofit boards, reflecting his commitment to community engagement and organizational leadership.
