Dallas, TX (January 3, 2019) – Whitley Penn Tax Partner, Jon P. Karp, CPA, PFS, has been named as 2019 Chairman Elect to the Texas Business Hall of Fame and will serve as Chairman for 2020.
Karp has more than 25 years of tax, advisory, financial services and public accounting experience focused on C-corporations, S-corporations, partnerships, and high net-worth individuals. He primarily works with clients in the healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, nonprofit, professional services, and real estate and construction industries.
Karp received a B.A. in Anthropology and Religious Studies from Southern Methodist University and completed post graduate studies in Accounting at The University of Texas at Arlington and The University of Texas at Dallas. He is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), the Dallas Chapter of TSCPA, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
He is a Committee Member and Chair of the Scholarship Committee for Greene Family Camp as well as a Continuing Professional Education Instructor at Surgent McCoy. Karp is a Board Trustees Member of Temple Emanu-El and former Board Member and Treasurer for the Temple Emanu-El Brotherhood. He is on the Planning and Allocations Committee for the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas. Karp has been involved with the Texas Business Hall of Fame since 2012.
