Houston, TX (December 2, 2016) – Whitley Penn is pleased to announce that Nathen McEown, Audit Partner and Co-Leader of the firm’s Energy Group, will serve as Partner in Charge of the firm’s Houston office effective immediately.
McEown represents public and private clients primarily in oil and gas upstream, midstream, and oilfield service industries. He has consulting experience including; SOX internal control implementation, assisting companies with their monthly financial close process, acquisition on-boarding, accounting clean up, stock option compensation calculations, drafting SEC filings, and accounting for other complex transactions.
McEown been recognized for his leadership by being named to the “Who’s Who in Energy” and “40 Under 40” lists by the Dallas Business Journal. He is the chair of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Oil and Gas Institute conference, a member of AEI’s Enterprise Club, the Adam Energy Forum, a graduate of Leadership Dallas class of 2014, and Leadership DISD class of 2012.

McEown received his B.B.A. and M.S. in Accounting from Texas Tech University and currently serves as the firm’s Campus Recruiting Coordinator for Texas Tech University.
