Fort Worth, TX (May 31, 2022) – Whitley Penn Tax Director, Bill Wilson, and Tax Senior Manager, Julie Quaranta have been nominated to join the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA) Federal Tax Policy Committee beginning June 1.
The Federal Tax Policy Committee serves as the voice of Texas CPAs to Congress, the Department of Treasury, and the IRS on tax legislation, regulations, and administrative pronouncements. Its primary focus is on issues of tax administration that impact CPAs as tax practitioners. The committee provides a valuable source of information to TXCPA members on the effects of pending legislation, regulations, and administrative decisions.

Wilson has more than 38 years of experience in tax matters, including 37 years with the IRS, 26 years of which were at the National Office level. His primary focus at Whitley Penn is on passthrough entity taxation and tax controversy matters.
He is a board member of the North American Petroleum Accounting Conference, a past president of COPAS of Dallas and a regular speaker at tax and accounting conferences
Wilson received his BS in Business Administration and Accounting from George Mason University and a Master of Taxation from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Quaranta is an experienced tax professional who specializes in providing high net worth individuals with information and services that provide them with a peace of mind to maintain their estates for years to come.
Quaranta began her career at Goldman Sachs on their Strategic Wealth Advisory Team providing consulting services to high net worth individuals on topics of wealth transfer, estate planning, executive compensation, and philanthropic questions. She has since taken these skills to the Public Accounting space, focusing on providing her clients with answers to the questions they are asking.
Quaranta is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA), the Houston Bar Association (HBA) and the State Bar of Texas.
Quaranta received her B.B.A. and M.B.A. in Accounting from Baylor University and her J.D. from the University of Texas Austin School of Law.
