Plano, TX (September 9, 2021) – William (Bill) Wilson, CPA has joined Whitley Penn as a Director within the firm’s Tax group. Wilson previously worked 37 years with IRS, including 20 years at the National Office level. Most recently, Wilson was a Team Manager in the Passthrough Entities Practice area where he led high profile projects including the implementation of the Bipartisan Budget Act (BBA) partnership audit procedures the transition to tax capital account reporting for partnerships. He is skilled in research, accounting, financial analysis, federal income taxation, and tax controversy matters. Additionally, he is a regular speaker and panelist at tax and energy industry conferences.

Wilson earned his B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting from George Mason University and his M.S. of Taxation from Virginia Commonwealth University.
