Fort Worth, TX (April 05, 2021) – Whitley Penn is pleased to announce that Jessica Sabedra, Human Resources Associate, will be honored as this year’s University of North Texas G. Brint Ryan College of Business Rising Star.
Sabedra will be one of three UNT alumni honored this spring at the college’s annual gala. The gala, scheduled for April 9th, will recognize both students and alumni for their outstanding achievements, innovation and leadership.
The Rising Star award serves to recognize a recent alum that has shown exceptional growth in their profession, as well as a strong potential for future successes.
Sabedra has 10 years of public accounting experience, six years in Human Resources including: Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, and HR Compliance.
She is an active member of Fort Worth HR (FWHR) the greater Tarrant County and surrounding area’s affiliate of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). Sabedra also served on the Emerging Leader Board at the Tarrant Area Food Bank in 2019 and participated in the UNT mentoring program with students pursuing a career in HR. In 2017, Sabedra was awarded the Fort Worth HR Inaugural Emerging HR Professional of the Year award.
Sabedra earned her BBA in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the G. Brint Ryan – College of Business at the University of North Texas. She will be featured on the Whitley Penn Talks podcast as part of the Whitley Penn Financial Series in the episode Start Now, Success Later that will focus on Employer Benefits.
